Meet plastic surgeon Drs. D.S. Wijnberg

After earning his bachelor’s degree in economics and working as a paramedic on an ambulance in the United States, Drs. DS Wijnberg (1955) returned to the Netherlands, where he studied medicine in Groningen.

After graduating as a physician, he completed his residency in general surgery at the Martini Hospital in Groningen. He then completed his training in plastic, reconstructive, hand, and aesthetic surgery under the supervision of Professor Robinson at the University Hospital in Groningen. During this training, he gained experience in all facets of plastic, reconstructive, hand, and aesthetic surgery and developed the ability to provide comprehensive plastic surgery solutions. He also acquired new knowledge in the fields of reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, breast reconstruction, and many other techniques within this complex field.

After completing his extensive training, he attended numerous workshops, symposia, and international conferences to master the latest techniques in hand surgery, laser techniques, and surgical procedures.

In 2009, after four years as an acting instructor, he was appointed instructor for the peripheral rotation for prospective plastic surgeons in Nijmegen. In addition to various “classic” surgical techniques, he has a special interest in laser and breast surgery. His areas of expertisealso include abdominoplasty, liposculpture, lipofilling, and the mommy makeover.
